Investment management is a high-demanding career. It requires not only technical skills but also a lot of devotion and sacrifice. Male professionals, who stereotypically do not spend too much time on families so that they could focus on their career development, which are more advantageous in achieving success in the industry than their female counterparts. The fact is that the majority of senior positions in the industry have been and are still taken by men. However, situation has been changing. More and more female professionals join the industry and succeed at high-level jobs. Human resources of the investment industry are therefore better allocated, leading to better investment return.
Inspired by Women in Investment Management initiative by CFA Institute and International Women’s Day, CFA Community Vietnam holds an annual conference themed Women in Investment Management 2018: Gender diversification for a better investment return for both female and male professionals in Vietnam. Three keynote panel speakers will share their stories, insights and experiences in an effort to inspire more women reaching the top of their fields.
