The world economy in general and Vietnam in particular have experienced many uncertainties due to the unprecedented COVID-19 and the US-China trade war. Given this backdrop, the global supply chain, which has been diversified from China due to its rising production costs, is now in the middle of restructuring with China plus one strategy. Several countries consider shifting partially their businesses or manufacturers from China to other ASEAN countries, and Vietnam is one of their choices such as Apple from the U.S. and Samsung from Korea. With the support from the government, Vietnam is now widely considered as one of the most appealing locations for supply chain restructuring. However, there have been many challenges to realize this opportunities. If Vietnam can succeed to attract companies given the supply chain restructuring is an arisen question.
Together with the Vietnam Community of Investment Professionals (A CFA Society in formation), the expert panel will discuss the topic “Restructuring the Global Supply Chain: Challenges and Opportunities for Vietnam” in this year 2020 Vietnam CPD event.
